May 21 data: 10 news deaths, 300 new cases reported

Utah reported 10 new deaths from COVID-19 Friday. Nine of the deaths occurred prior to April 21, 2021.

Utah reported an additional 300 positive cases with 136 current hospitalizations. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the pandemic now stand at 16,338.

Utah is approaching 2.5 million vaccinations.

UDOH REPORTED THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY:

Positives:

  • We will report 403,984 positive cases today. This is an increase of 300 new cases since yesterday.

Vaccines:

  • We will report 2,482,804 total vaccines administered which is 18,716 more than yesterday.

Lab Tests:

  • We will report 2,658,131 people tested. This is an increase of 4,321 people tested since yesterday.
  • We will report 4,857,128 total tests. This is an increase of 8,851 tests since yesterday.

Trends:

  • The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 284 per day.
  • The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.4%. The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.4%.

Hospitalizations:

  • There are 136 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 16,638.

Deaths:

We will report 2,289 total deaths, which is 10 more than yesterday. Nine of these deaths occurred prior to April 21, 2021
