SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake announced that forward Justin Meram’s wife Maxine gave birth to a baby boy.
The announcement was posted on Twitter by Real Salt Lake on Monday afternoon.
“Congratulations to Justin Meram and his wife Maxine on the birth of their baby boy,” the tweet read.
Meram is in his second season with Real Salt Lake, playing in 22 matches with 13 starts in 2020. He had three goals and four assists in 1,168 minutes played last season.
The Shelby Charter Township, Michigan native appeared in RSL’s 2-1 win in their season opener against Minnesota United FC on Saturday. He came in off the bench in the second half.
Meram’s career began in 2011 when he was selected by the Columbus Crew with the 15th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft. After six seasons in Columbus, Meram spent one season with Orlando City SC in 2018, where he appeared in 17 matches. Then he went to Atlanta United in 2019, playing in 27 matches.
He also has international experience with Iraq, playing for the national team in 2015 and again in 2019.
