Utah County – According to the statement, officials found E. coli during routine testing and then issued a boil order on Thursday to residents.

The water tested positive prior to chlorination.

The problem was discovered up Maple Canyon, where a spring provides about 5% of the city’s drinking water.

State water quality officials are investigating the cause.

Tests are being conducted now to ensure the water is safe. The soonest the boil order could be lifted is late Saturday or early Sunday.
