Provo, UT – According to the officials, Westbound I-80 will be reduced to two lanes between the U.S. Highway 40/Silver Creek interchange and Kimball Junction from Monday, Aug. 2, at 8 a.m. to Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 8 p.m.

The officials say that during this time, crews will perform maintenance work on the bridges over the Highland Drive/Bitner Road connection east of Kimball Junction.

This bridge maintenance is being completed as part of a larger project taking place this summer.

UDOT will repave I-80 from just west of Kimball Junction to the U.S. Highway 40/Silver Creek Junction, along with the Silver Creek/I-80 ramps at the Silver Summit Interchange.

This project will provide a smoother driving surface and extend the life of the pavement, the news release said.

Note that all drivers should plan for reduced speed limits of 55 mph and use caution while traveling through the work zone.

Officials say that the project is expected to be complete this fall.
