PROVO, Utah — A 24-year-old woman was injured Friday when her car was hit by an oncoming train in a railroad crossing.
It happened at 7120 S. 2400 East in Spanish Fork, where Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said the woman “decided to blow a stop sign at a railroad crossing.”
He noted the crossing had no lights or crossing arms.

“Should thought she could make it,” Cannon said, and continued through the crossing, where the train struck her car.
Cannon said she is “incredibly lucky to be alive and not critically injured.”
