OREM, Utah – The UVU men’s and women’s track & field teams return home to Hal Wing Track and Field to host its annual UVU Collegiate Invitational. The outdoor event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, and will have eight schools participating. Utah Valley will allow up to 500 fans to be in attendance and tickets will be $5.

The first two days of the meet – Thursday and Friday – will primarily consist of the men’s decathlon and women’s heptathlon, while the hammer throw is also slated to take place Friday afternoon. Thursday’s portion of the decathlon will start at 11:00 am, while the heptathlon begins at 12:00 pm. Both events are scheduled for 9:00 am Friday.

Saturday’s slate will feature 11 track and seven field events, with the women’s 5000m kicking off the day’s action at 8:15 am, while the men’s 4x400m relay ends it at 3:30 pm. Because of COVID-19 protocols, there will be no spectators allowed Thursday; however, a limited number of invited guests will be permitted Friday and Saturday.

Last time out, The UVU men’s and women’s track and field team returned to Las Vegas for the third time as both teams competed in the UNLV Spring Invitational. The men’s team took third place while the women’s team took fourth in a competitive event featuring schools from the Big Sky, Mountain West, WAC, and West Coast Conference.

The last time the Wolverines hosted the UVU Collegiate Invitational in 2019, Utah Valley dominated at home versus nine neighboring institutions. Utah Valley’s men capitalized on their first-place finish from the UC Riverside Invitational by adding eight event victories and five from the women.
