Authorities are investigating after Provo officers shot and killed a man during a traffic stop on 300 North near 900 West

Provo, UT – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday.

It happened on 300 North near 900 West in Provo. Officers tried to stop a Buick Lacrosse.

The driver took off and the officers decided not to pursuit him. Some time later, the officers spotted the same vehicle and approached it. Authorities say the driver got out of his vehicle and refused to cooperate.

Shots were fired and the driver was hit. Police say the driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Unfortunately, the driver was later pronounced dead. This incident is under investigation.
