HEBER CITY, Utah — A police chase in Heber City Saturday resulted in the arrest of a felony fugitive, but not before officers say he smashed into two police vehicles and a fence.

Police located Jared Luther Pacheco Saturday afternoon. They say he is wanted on a felony warrant for offenses including fleeing and possession of a weapon by restricted person, according to a statement by the Heber City Police Department.

“Heber City Officers located him and attempted a traffic stop,” the statement says. “Pacheco fled in a vehicle, intentionally crashed into two marked patrol vehicles while officers were in them continuing into a residence fence.

“He was located in the greenfield circle area of Heber – pursuit, crash and apprehension occurred on Airport Road and Baxter Drive. Pacheco was safely taken into custody.”

New charges will included felony fleeing, aggravated assault on an officer, narcotics offense and traffic violations, “as well as original warrant,” the statement says.

“We are so grateful no one was injured and appreciate all assisting agencies that participated in the apprehension of Mr. Pacheco.”
