OREM, Utah— A man died and his daughter was injured in Orem Saturday when a vehicle struck the motorcycle they were riding.

The call was dispatched at about 2 p.m. Saturday, and Orem police officers responded to the scene, at 400 N. State St.

“There was an accident between two vehicles, and the second one hit the motorcycle,” Lt. Nick Thomas, Orem Police Department, told Gephardt Daily.

“When officers arrived, the male (motorcycle) driver was deceased. His daughter was on the back, and she was transported with some injuries to the hospital,” Thomas said.

“She was OK. She was talking when they took her to the hospital.”

Thomas said he did not have information about the age or city of residence for the deceased man or his daughter. In police radio transmissions, the girl was said to be 11.

Thomas said he had not heard of any injures to the people in the primary accident, between the two larger vehicles.

Thomas said the incident is still under investigation, and he should have more information later this week.
