Utah singer breaks silence after dropping out of ‘American Idol’

Utah – Two days after “American Idol” announced that Wyatt Pike had unexpectedly dropped out of the competition, the singer has opened up on social media.

“I had to leave the @AmericanIdol competition for personal reasons but am so thankful I get to play music for the rest of my life,” Pike tweeted on Wednesday. “Fellow contestants —miss you all, good luck! Thank you to everyone for your support … do stick around for more musical things soon!”

In Pike’s announcement on Instagram, several “Idol” contestants — including Madison Watkins, Alanis Sophia and Grace Kinstler — left comments of support for Pike, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Park City, Utah.

“So much love for you Wyatt!!!” Kinstler commented. “You are going to do AMAZING things; I cannot wait to watch it all unfold for you.”
