422 new cases, 6 more deaths reported in past day

PROVO, Utah — The Utah Department of Health on Friday reported 422 new cases of COVID-19 documented in the past day, and six new deaths.

That brings total documented cases to 386,550. Known COVID-19 deaths in Utah are now at 2,131.

Those who died were:

  •  A female, between 65-84, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • A male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized
  • A female, between 65-84, Millard County resident, hospitalized
  • A male, older than 85, Weber County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • A female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized
  • A female, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident

Four of these deaths occurred prior to March 1, UDoH said.

Vaccines administered number 1,450,263, an increase of 40,049 since yesterday.

Lab tests have been given to 2,400,410 people, an increase of 5,761 tested since yesterday. A total of 4,268,946 tests have been given, an increase of 14,258 tests since yesterday.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 407 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.9%. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.4%.

There are 138 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 15,573.
