Cases climb to 590, woman between ages 25-44 among 3 new deaths

The Utah Department of Health reports 590 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday as three more people, including a Utah County woman between the ages of 25-44, have died as a result of the virus.

All three people who died were hospitalized at the time of their deaths.

UDOH reports the following statistics:

Positives:

  • We will report 393,862 positive cases today. This is an increase of 590 new cases since yesterday.

Vaccines:

  • We will report 1,950,894 total vaccines administered which is 34,472 more than yesterday.

Lab Tests:

  • We will report 2,505,996 people tested. This is an increase of 4,057 people tested since yesterday.
  • We will report 4,525,584 total tests. This is an increase of 15,496 tests since yesterday.

Trends:

  • The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 384 per day.
  • The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.2%. The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.0%.

Hospitalizations:

  • There are 146 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 15,981.

Deaths:

We will report 2,177 total deaths. Three more than yesterday.

  • Female, between 65-84, Iron County resident, hospitalized
  • Male, between 65-84, Davis County resident, hospitalized
  • Female, between 25-44, Utah County resident, hospitalized
