TOOELE COUNTY, UT — The parents of a 12-year-old boy who committed suicide due to school bullying want to share awareness to other parents.

Samie and Andy said that their son Drayke was bullied by one student several times at school.

The grieving family are calling for good in the community with the hashtag #doitfordrayke.

“I think my daughters came up with that in the hospital,” Samie said. “It’s an anti-bullying and suicide prevention campaign. Suicides are so high right now, and it’s because of hurtful words.”

The parents said people from as far as Australia have messaged them to offer support. Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has even reached out.

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, help is available 24/7 by calling 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or visiting suicidepreventionlifeline.org
