COVID-19 updates: Decreases in deaths, cases and positivity rate Sunday

PROVO, Utah – DPH reports 1,817 new cases, 29 new deaths Sunday

The state’s Department of Public Health reported Sunday that there are 1,817 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts. Since the pandemic began in March 2020, the commonwealth has seen 592,778 total confirmed cases of the coronavirus, including an estimated 30,772 active ones.

Additionally, Mass. DPH reported that 29 more people in the state have died while having confirmed cases of COVID-19, pushing the total number of fatalities in Massachusetts among people who had confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus to 16,775.

In an update to the state’s testing numbers, the Department of Public Health reported Sunday that 75,179 new molecular tests have been administered in Massachusetts for COVID-19. Since the start of the pandemic, the state has given out 18,603,996 total molecular tests for the virus.

The state’s seven-day weighted average of positive molecular tests decreased to 2.28% Sunday.

State reports 2,362 new cases, 35 new deaths Saturday

The state’s Department of Public Health reported Saturday that there are 2,362 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts. Since the pandemic began in March 2020, the commonwealth has seen 590,961 total confirmed cases of the coronavirus, including an estimated 29,806 active ones.

Additionally, Mass. DPH reported that 35 more people in the state have died while having confirmed cases of COVID-19, pushing the total number of fatalities in Massachusetts among people who had confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus to 16,746.

In an update to the state’s testing numbers, the Department of Public Health reported Saturday that 108,411 new molecular tests have been administered in Massachusetts for COVID-19. Since the start of the pandemic, the state has given out 18,528,787 total molecular tests for the virus.

The state’s seven-day weighted average of positive molecular tests increased to 2.35% on Saturday.

Mass. sees slight increase in deaths, cases

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported Friday that 40 more people in Massachusetts have died while having confirmed cases of COVID-19, up slightly from 39 deaths reported Thursday. That pushes the total number of deaths in the state among people with confirmed cases of coronavirus to 16,711. One death of a person with a probable case of the virus was also reported.
