Utah – It was gratifying to read that Utah ranks high on the list of best states in which to live. In fact, Utah rated number one in terms of the economy. My euphoric feelings were quickly replaced by sadness and deep concern when I read that we place 46th in terms of health risks stemming from pollution.
Some of us aren’t celebrating the fact that our robust economy is likely a result of tolerance for things that pollute our magnificent state and threaten our precious health. The proposed Inland Port tops the list of my concerns. I suspect only those who do not yet have breathing difficulties nor live close to the proposed site for the Inland Port are celebrating our economy over our health.
